Caunton supplied the steelwork for the successful, X-Leisure owned, 122,000 square feet, Cambridge Leisure complex, which is now trading most successfully and won the Retail and Leisure Property Award for 2005. The car parking as illustrated caters for 611 spaces and is a fine example of Caunton utilising cell-form beams. The particular advantage of these visually attractive sections is their efficient strength-to-weight ratio, ideal for the driver- friendly large spans so popular with the public nowadays. Caunton are building a good reputation in car parks, as steel clearly grows its market share.
