Steve Waterhouse, a director of the company and head of Business Unit Three, BU3, represented Caunton Engineering at the Annual Suppliers Day hosted by Simons Construction on 1st November. Simons is a BU3 Key Client and Caunton has been supplying structural steelwork to the company for many years – nowadays most frequently on a partnering basis. This year meant the tenth Annual Suppliers Day in succession, and the occasion was marked by Caunton being presented with an Award which Steve received on behalf of the company. This is inscribed “The 10th Annual Suppliers Day Award - in celebration of our ten years working together as partners”. Quite a compliment to Caunton. The award was presented by Paul Hodgkinson, a frequent and welcome visitor to Caunton’s HQ at Moorgreen, and chairman of this Lincoln-based contractor, winners themselves of a major award recently, Building Magazine’s Contractor of the Year Award 2007. Paul said at the presentation that Caunton were present at the first Suppliers Day and have never missed. He said there were very few suppliers who could say this! He complimented Caunton on their commitment and excellent work for the Simons Group over the years. Caunton are working with Simons at Haverfordwest at the moment. Nice for Caunton to get a pat on the back from such an important client.
