Caunton " Bows In and Out" at Sherwood Park

Caunton have designed, fabricated & erected the structural steelwork for the new Promotional Logistics Ltd (Prolog) production office and distribution warehouse facility as shown in the photograph above. The overall client for the project was Highbridge (Prolog) Developments Ltd and this is the fifth phase of their expansion at Sherwood Park, Nottingham. Four of these five phases have been awarded to Caunton's immediate client, contractor Interserve Building, (formerly Tilbury Douglas Construction). Caunton's contract also included the installation of the composite floor decking & consequent stud welding to the office floors.

The building, titled Prolog 5, consists of a triple span portal frame, each frame spanning 34m x 140m long, with two-storey integral offices across the full width of the building. The cladding employed is a combination of vertical & horizontal spanning composite panels with externally expressed pilasters and integral glazing panels.

Caunton commenced on site within eight weeks of receiving the order and the entire building was erected over a seven week period, using Caunton's own directly employed erection teams and customised access equipment. Architect for the project was CPMG Architects Ltd and the engineer the BWB Partnership.

Following the successful completion of this contract, Caunton was naturally delighted to be awarded a similar contract at the Client's site at Holmewood in Chesterfield.
