Caunton Engineering's Academy - now an accredited training centre

On 14th August Caunton Engineering was delighted to hear that the company had gained approval, from the awarding body EAL, to become an accredited training centre. EAL are Engineering and Marine Training Authority Awards Ltd, and in a practical sense this now means the company need no longer employ the services of external training providers. The NVQ’s will now be completed by internal assessors and verifiers. The technical certificate element will now be accomplished on a day release basis at Aldercar Community College. On 2nd September five new apprentices joined the fast growing academy and are here photographed on their opening day. All five apprentices started their NVQ level 3 within the academy and will eventually join the full fabrication speed-lines.

Within a couple of weeks the apprentices had practiced general welding, gas-cutting and were producing small fabrications such as brackets and beams for the speed lines. A good start for the new apprentices and the company wishes them every success in achieving their qualifications to join the team on the speed lines.
