A steel-framed car park for ProLogis’ DIRFT II development

A multi storey car park was required for the second phase of the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal. Caunton are supplying the steelwork for a major distribution warehouse, entitled Project Lion (see web site news 18 October 2010) and client ProLogis required attendant car parking. Caunton supplied not only the steelwork frame but erected the precast slabs that form the floors for this, a sizeable 778 space car park. The two storey, three floor, car park comprises 450te of structural steelwork, designed by the Caunton design team. Steel is increasingly gaining market share in the growing multi storey car park market through its construction speed and flexibility and cost advantages. This of course is also adding to Caunton’s catalogue of car parks the company has constructed.
