February’s New Steel Construction reports Caunton Engineering are supplying the beams (and columns) for the new Eastbourne shopping centre The Beacon. The £85m extension to the existing Arndale shopping mall has now been named The Beacon by owner Legal and General, to conjure up images of the town’s coastal history and the nearby Beachy Head Lighthouse. Caunton are supplying 2000te of structural steelwork for main contractor Kier for this project.
