Caunton supplying steelwork for a new Materials Recovery Facility

Caunton Engineering are most pleased to be both designing and supplying the structural steelwork to major contractor Clegg Group for a new regional materials recovery facility (MRF) at the Sherbourne Resource Park in Coventry. Once operational the facility will be able to process a major 175ktpa recyclate from both domestic and commercial sources. The MRF will be owned by Sherbourne Recycling Ltd, a company set up by eight member Midlands-located councils , and in which each will have a stake. The steelwork, over 500te to be supplied, will form a propped portal framework, which is to be 'L' shaped on plan. Caunton understands that the client is investing in technologies to achieve exceptionally high purity rates and tackle a wider range of waste materials, including single use plastics. Thereby the facility will be able to target UK based end processors and command a higher market price for the material streams created. Caunton are most pleased to be playing a part in such positive actions benefitting sustainability.
