Caunton Engineering have been presented with a Green Apple Environmental Award. This is in recognition of their particular contribution to the Simons Construction-led Project Team's success with the Sainsbury Supermarket Extension at Bourne in Lincolnshire.


The Simons team had in fact won the Gold Award which is the highest appellation awarded by the Considerate Constructors Scheme.


This recognises that the team acted as a responsible neighbour while working within the community. It highlights how we all have an impact on the community and local environment in the areas in which we all work. The programme prescribed by the Simons team had been so to manage activities, that the effects on the community were minimised with particular regard to noise, dust, litter, mud, transportation and parking.


The Caunton Award Certificate was presented to Caunton Director Steven Waterhouse by the Chairman of Simons Construction Paul Hodgkinson at a celebratory dinner in Lincoln.
