On a design and build contract, Caunton Engineering supplied 3,032 tonnes of main and secondary steelwork for main contractor Winvic Construction, at Plot 5, SEGRO Logistics Park at the East Midlands Gateway, Derby. This project was designated a Net Zero project.
The steelwork, which Caunton designed, supplied and erected for this eight span warehouse, incorporated an external office and a hub office, alongside a three-storey mezzanine floor.
Winvic reported that: "It was with great pride we share the completion of our latest Net Zero in construction project for SEGRO Plc, whilst leaving a positive legacy within the community." They further stated: "Through a collaborative approach between Winvic, our supply chain and our client SEGRO Plc, we realised multiple ESG and Sustainability initiatives. This included minimising carbon emissions associated with the building's materials and construction processes and increased energy performance and efficiency for the occupier, which enabled Plot 5, SEGRO Logistics Park, East Midlands Gateway to achieve BREEAM 'Excellent' and an EPC A+ rating."
