Caunton was, from the early 1980’s, often found to be regularly working with client Associated Cold Stores (ACS) and their contracting team. The company was invited to join the team right from the commencement of the project, in order to build their cold stores most quickly and efficiently.
Expertise learnt from working with client ACS has benefited Caunton significantly. Cold storage industry clients have proved to be keen to use Caunton's skills, and many Cold Stores have been built over the years with Caunton’s steelwork framing the structures.
Examples of experience include a major store at Bilsthorpe for client Phil Hanley; a coldstore at Whitchurch plus a further extension for client Grocontinental. On both sites, Caunton worked alongside much of the established ACS team referred to earlier - contractor FJ Chalcroft, engineer Grout Buckton and architect David Trundley Design Services. In addition to these a much valued order for the structural steelwork for a major Cold Store, north of the border in Livingston, for client Big Food Group Ltd - the Iceland and Booker chain was secured and Clegg Foods - the increasingly important major food industry contractor - employed Caunton at Ashford Kent for their Ardovries Cold Store.
We at Caunton are keen to increase our capability in this market where, we believe, we are leading the structural steelwork industry.
