Caunton helping in the regeneration of Neath

Caunton are supplying the steelwork for the first phase of a major new redevelopment of Neath town centre. Main contractor for this important new project is Kier Construction.

This first phase of the redevelopment is a new 600 space multi-storey car park. Caunton are designing the steelwork, and manufacturing and erecting over 750te of the beam and column frameworks. The company is then fixing the precast floor units and the concrete staircases.

In addition Caunton are supplying the steelwork for a retail unit – with an area of 24,000 sq.ft. – which is being constructed alongside the car park. This is fully expected to be the first of many.

This, the first phase of the town centre redevelopment, is funded by the Regeneration Investment Fund for Wales (RIFW). Funded by the Welsh Government, RIFW provides funding to stimulate and support urban development projects. Neath is the first development in the country to benefit from the Regeneration Investment Fund for Wales. Caunton wishes RIFW every success with this. Caunton is also delighted to be supplying their steelwork to an area so famous for making steel – at Port Talbot nearby.
