A second major facility for major German logistics company framed with steelwork by Caunton

Caunton Engineering is delighted to be working again with Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world's leading logistics providers. The company is supplying the structural steelwork for main contractor Winvic Construction, the new facility will be developed on the prestigious East Midlands Gateway scheme which is adjacent to the south side of East Midlands Airport. It is a three-year project to create a Strategic Rail Freight Interchange at the heart of the United Kingdom’s transport network. Scheduled for completion in 2019, the project will see significant changes to the local infrastructure.


It is reported that Kuehne + Nagel’s new site will be a 200,000 sq. ft. state-of- the-art facility on 17.6 acres of land. It will include a 40,000 sq. ft. temperature-controlled area to accommodate the company’s growth plans within the Pharmaceutical sector. Caunton are supplying approximately 900te of steelwork, with the frame designed by the Caunton Technical team. The structure is a twin-span hit-and-double-miss portal together with a three storey office block, and a loading Canopy and Hub Office.
