Caunton erected the steelwork for a new Food Processing Factory for Hazlewood Foods at Worksop. The plant's main function is planned to be as a sandwich-making facility. Erection progress was accelerated by the use of Caunton's new mobile platforms (see graphic) with nearly 400 tonnes erected in just two weeks. These mobile platforms are fitted each with an on-board generator, arguably a UK first, with powered impact wrenches to accelerate bolt tightening.
This 750 tonne steelwork project is one of four which Caunton are carrying out currently for Nottingham-based contractor Clegg Construction whose successful Food Projects Division managed this project.
