The press has reported in the current NSC Weekly, a progress update covering Caunton Engineering’s contract at Royal Mint Street.
Caunton is supplying over 1,200 tonnes of structural steelwork to support two major steel transfer structures for a 14-storey mixed-use development at 88 Royal Mint Street, located close to the Tower of London.
The northernmost steel structure spans part of a Network Rail viaduct, while the southern structure is positioned directly above two encapsulated Docklands Light Railway lines.
The supporting columns carry a series of trusses measuring up to 13 metres in length and 3.5 metres in height where they span over the DLR lines, creating a 5-metre clearance for passing trains.
The development is being delivered by the IJM Group, with construction led by main contractor Midgard Ltd and structural design by Whitby Wood.
Caunton Engineering is delighted to be contributing to such a complex and high-profile project.
