New large warehouse in Cannock – the steelwork by Caunton constructed in double quick time

Caunton are very pleased to have been awarded the contract by Midlands-based contractor Benniman Construction for the structural steelwork for a new logistics warehouse development in Cannock. Benniman’s client is EQT Global Investments. The project team includes UMC Architects.

The site was formerly occupied by a parcel centre which was destroyed by a large fire in 2024.

The design and build project requiring over 1200te of structural steelwork will be constructed to meet BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and EPC A standards, supporting energy efficiency and environmental performance.

The total duration of Caunton’s involvement in the project was 14 weeks – 8 weeks off-site (design, GA’s detailing and manufacture) and 6 weeks on-site. For a project of this size, Caunton’s Contracts Manager, Dean Linthwaite was proud to say “it’s one of the quickest we’ve put through the business.”

Caunton are very pleased to be working again for Benniman Construction. This Bromsgrove based company, formed in 1967, has grown as an independent and privately owned construction company, developing its portfolio and expertise in industrial, commercial, retail, primary care and fit-out. Caunton are naturally pleased and complimented that Benniman Construction states that it prides itself on the quality of workmanship from both their directly employed workforce and through to the subcontractors they employ.
